French Institute of Byzantine Studies

Founded in 1895, the French Institute of Byzantine Studies (IFEB) is dedicated to research in the field of Byzantine and post-Byzantine studies: History and civilization of Byzantium; Orthodox Church and Theology; Modern Greece and Southeast Europe. Since 1952, it has the status of association. Under an agreement made in 1983, the IFEB and its documentary collections have joined the Institut catholique de Paris and, since 1995, the Jean de Vernon Library.
IFEB is publishing Revue des études byzantines and the collection Archives de l’Orient Chrétien.

Французский институт византийских исследований (IFEB), основанный в 1895 году, проводит византийские и поствизантийские исследования: по истории и цивилизации Византии; Православной Церкви и Богословию; Современной Греции и Юго-Восточной Европе. С 1952 года он имеет статус ассоциации. Согласно соглашению, заключенному в 1983 году, IFEB и его документальные коллекции присоединились к Католическому институту в Париже, а с 1995 года - к библиотеке Жана де Вернона.
IFEB публикует журнал Revue des études byzantines и сборник Archives de l’Orient Chrétien.
