— Both Loparev and Papadimitriu identified the husband of Mstislavna as John II’s oldest son, Alexios. Papadimitriu has demonstrated that Loparev, by a series of fantastic guesses, created a false biography of Mstislavna, and invented for her the name of Zoe. There is no need to return to his scrutiny of Loparev’s mistakes, particularly since G. Litavrin also rejected Loparev’s constructions. [Kazhdan]
