Notes:
— The author emphasizes that he began this research because of the «poor study» of the role of the rural community in the formation of feudalism in Byzantium in the 13th–15th centuries. Demonstrates the existence of a rural community in Late Byzantium. Supposes that a rural community is a kind of organisation of rural population which is united on the basis of common relations and neighbourhood for the regulation of social, economic, cultural and religious life of its members and the forming of a psychological unity between them.
